ABOUT THE BOOK

This book is designed for the Quantitative and Qualitative Reasoning course at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. The course is one of several ways that students in the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences can meet their general studies mathematics requirement. This text is a set of skeletal notes for one section of the course. The basic mathematical principles are laid out, while their application to various problems is done in the blank spaces provided for student writing. Thus this book is not so much intended for individual study of mathematics, but rather as a convenient means of participation in the course.
